We focus on the surgical management of GI cancer (stomach, colon and rectum), inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) and other benign disorders of the colon and rectum.

The colorectal surgery service at North York General Hospital is staffed by surgical oncologists and colorectal surgeons. We treat both cancerous and benign intestinal surgical problems. We strive to provide compassionate and personalized care while focusing on being leaders in:

Britney Ann Butt - Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse
Britney is part of the Colorectal Cancer Program team at North York General Hospital (NYGH). In her role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, she cares for patients who require a stoma — an opening in the abdomen that allows feces or urine to pass. Britney teaches patients how to care for their stoma and change their ostomy pouches, which collect these body fluids.
